D--NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Chillicothe VA Medical Center B211 Wireless Internet Access

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only acknowledgment and a written solicitation will not be issued. This contract is being procured on a sole source basis due to the fact that Horizon Personal Communications is the only source available to provide the wireless internet access and maintenance for the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. A fiber-optic based wireless internet infrastructure, which will not be connected to or dependent on the Chillicothe VA Medical Center's current internet used by Medical Center Staff, shall be installed and made available for patient use at the Chillicothe VAMC only. Using Horizon Personal Communications will benefit the Chillicothe VAMC due to the equipment that will be installed during this project will be compatible with the existing patient use wireless internet access already in place at the VAMC. This is being procured on an Only One Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency requirements per FAR 6.302-1. The contract duration is for twelve (12) months. This requirement is SET ASIDE for small business for commercial items under the North Atlantic Industrial Classification System (NAICS) 519130.
