NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO 9) intends to award a sole source contract award to Johnson Controls, Inc., 5757 N Green Bay Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53209. This requirement is to provide the expertise and resources required to maintain, upgrade and optimize the JCI Metasys building automation control system at Lexington VA Medical Center's Leestown Road (LD) and Cooper Drive (CD) campuses. Johnson Controls, Inc. is the only authorized vendor capable of providing the requested service. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by October 23, 2014, 12:00 p.m. (ET). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to
