Background: The Philadelphia VA Medical Center's Behavioral Health Service has a requirement for Netsmart's HL-7 Interface program for the Avatar system to the (VISTA/CPRS) system, annual maintenance for HL-7 Interface and installation and testing of application plus remote training. The interface will transfer data from Netsmart's Avatar system to the VA's VISTA/CPRS system. Behavioral Health's Opiate Treatment Program (OTP) currently uses Nestsmart's Avatar Methadone Dispensing System. In order to eliminate duplicate work in processing patient orders, PVAMC needs an interface to link the Avatar system with VistA/CPRS. Netsmart Technologies Inc., has proprietary rights of their Avatar software programs. The software is compatible with the facilities existing system.
