The Department of Veterans Affairs, SAO Central, NCO12 - Milwaukee, WI, intends to award a sole source commercial contract in accordance with FAR Parts 12 & 13. The North America Industry Classification System Code [NAICS] is 811219 and size standard is $19 Million. The government has determined that Varian Medical Systems, Inc. is the only source that can satisfy this agency requirement. Contractor shall furnish all labor, transportation, parts, and expertise necessary to provide emergency (unscheduled) repair, troubleshooting, updates and unlimited phone support of the Eclipse treatment planning software and associated hardware used in the Radiotherapy Department at the Hines VA Hospital. Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Varian Medical Systems, Inc.. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can only be satisfied for supplies/services available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by August 11, 2014 by 2:00 PM CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before August 11, 2014 will be evaluated by the Government.
