This announcement is to provide notification of the Department of Veterans Affairs intent to enter into a sole source contract with Hologic LP, 250 Campus Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752, for a service and maintenance agreement on the Hologic Thin Prep 2000 Processor. The contract is anticipated to be a base year with four (4) one year options thereafter. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price. Negotiation is being conducted using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to authority of FAR 6.302-1(b)(1). The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested person may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. You must show past performance for this particular machine. This equipment contains software developed by Hologic that is proprietary in nature. Service must be provided within 24 hours upon notification by the VA of the need for service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all statements of capability received within three (3) business days after publication of this synopsis. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in proposal preparation. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a statement of capability, which will be considered by the agency.
