J--Notice of Intent to Sole Source with TomoTherapy, Inc. for 1-Yr Repair and Maintenance Services for TomoTherapy, Inc. CT Guided Radiation Oncology Therapy Machine.

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with TomoTherapy, Inc., 1240 Deming Way, Madison, WI 53717, for One-Year of Repair and Maintenance Services on a TomoTherapy CT Guided Radiation Oncology Therapy Machine, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System needs to procure these services from TomoTherapy, Inc., since they are the only available source that can provide the needed services based on the following: They have proprietary rights to the hardware and software used with this system, and software upgrades that will part of the needed services. They are the manufacturer of this machine, and therefore have a unique knowledge of how to repair it. They are the only company that makes this type of system. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 12:00PM Eastern Time, on April 16, 2010.
