Notice of Intent to Award on a Sole Source Basis

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Lake City, Florida, 619 S. Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Siemens Building Technologies to Replace Fire Alarm System, Phase 2. The proposed contract action is for a construction contract for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Equipment installed under Phase 2 of this project must be compatible and function peer to peer with equipment installed and currently warranted under Phase I. Only authorized representatives of the equipment manufacturer will be considered. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than June 17, 2004, to be considered. Offerers must provide proof that they can provide, install and warrant the complete Fire Alarm System. No solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the descretion of the Government. Oral communications and responses received after June 17, 2004 will not be accepted.
