CO/CO Group 5 UAS ISR Services in support of Task Force Southwest and U.S. Central Command Area of Operations

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAS Patuxent River, MD awarded a $48,250,000 a contract modification (N00019-18-C-1063-P00002) to General Atomics - Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), Poway, CA on 30 May 2019 (CLINs 0013-0021). $36,467,263 was obligated at award covering nine (9) months of service, with additional option line items available for exercise. The contract modification inclusive of all option line items provides for up to twelve (12) months of additional Group 5 Unmanned Air System (UAS) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) support for OCONUS U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) operations during FY19-FY20 using Contractor-Owned /Contractor-Operated (CO/CO) MQ-9 Reaper Unmanned Air Systems. This acquisition was pursued on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort was solely within the discretion of the Government. This effort is covered under Justification and Approval (J&A) number 19-0056 dated 17 December 2018.
