HOUSING FOR STUDENT INTERNS THROUGHT THE WASHINGTON, DC AND SURROUNDING AREAS GENERAL: This Sources Sought Notice is a Request for Information (RFI) and is NOT a Request for Proposals (RFP), nor is it a Request for Quotes (RFQ). In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are NOT offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The government will NOT award a contract on the basis of this notice, or otherwise pay for information solicited by it. All costs associated with responding to this notice will be solely at the interested respondent’s expense. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary. The requested information is for planning and market research purposes only and WILL NOT be publicly released. The objective of this notice is to understand vendor capabilities and interest levels in the commercial marketplace. Review of the responses to this notice will focus on the offeror’s technical capability to provide a quality solution, corporate experience/past performance for relevant scope with commercial activities or government agencies. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. The information provided in this notice and any future changes to this notice are subject to change and are not binding on the Department of State. PURPOSE: This is a Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information (RFI), as described in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Sub-Part 15.201(c)(7). The purpose of the RFI is to obtain market research, pursuant to FAR Part 10, Market Research, and to identify businesses capable of performing the functions described herein. Offerors shall clearly identify their socio-economic small business status in the first paragraph of their cover letters, if applicable. Offerors may be considered large businesses if the business status is not provided. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to identify vendors that can provide administrative and logistical housing support up to 400 U.S. Department of State temporary employees (paid student interns) for a period of 10-weeks every 3-4 months, for three consecutive cycles totaling up to 1,200 annually. The housing availability would need to be staggered and on a rolling basis since the temporary employees’ housing will be predicated on: If they require housing Their start date/move-in date The housing requirements will include, but may not be limited to: Fully furnished with Wi-Fi Located within reasonable walking distance of public transportation (10 minute or less) Located in reasonably safe location, comfortable, and close to basic necessities (grocery store, pharmacy, etc.). On-site facility support (maintenance, mail, front desk staff, etc.). Housing can range from studio or larger allowing roommates (1 occupant per bedroom) and segregated by gender.
