Blood/Lipids Analysis

Investigate the associations between worsened physical function and blood metals/lipid mediators in prostate cancer survivors who underwent external beam radiation therapy. Lipid Mediators of Inflammation Targeted Panel The Metabolon Lipid Mediators of Inflammation Targeted Panel provides absolute quantification for 58 metabolites associated with metabolic consequences of widespread inflammatory disease. The following classes are monitored: Hydroxy/Epoxy Fatty Acids, Anti-inflammatory mediators, Pro-inflammatory mediators, Prostaglandins, PUFAs, Endocannabinoids Deliverables include an Excel file containing quantitative results and quality control values in units of mg/mL for EDTA plasma samples. Standard turnaround time is 6-8 weeks from receipt of sample and necessary information. Meta Analysis Targeted Panel Metal Ions are measured using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry. Samples are introduced into the ICP-MS instrument via an ESI Prep-Fast autosampler including dilution with aqueous nitric acid. The Thermo ICAP-RQ instrument is operated in positive ionization and uses a KED cell to reduce polyatomic interferences. Quantitation is performed using a multi-point external calibration curve which precedes the samples into the instrument. Concentration measurements in ìg/L for metals detected for all quantifiable amounts per the limits of the assay will be returned for all samples using the following metals: Sodium, Magnesium, Aluminum, Potassium, Calcium, Vanadium, Chromium, Manganese, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Zinc, Arsenic, Selenium, Strontium, Molybdenum, Silver, Cadmium, Antimony, Barium, Thallium, and Lead. Results for upper and lower limits of quantification and reproducibility data from technical replicates run within the set will also be included. All results will be contained in an Excel file. No statistics or interpretation will be included. Standard Turnaround Time :6 - 8 weeks from receipt of samples and necessary information.
