The Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Karns Enterprises, Martinsburg WV, 25401-5180, to make an Interactive CD ROM for Firearms Identification of the National Tracing Centers’ (NTC) “Firearms Identification Guide (FIG-1)”, compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and to develop a FIG-2 illustrating the guns most frequently used in U. S. crimes. Karns Enterprises is the original creator of the CD Rom in 1998 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. There is no solicitation available for this requirement. This requirement will be awarded through the Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13.
