A -- Photonic Devices, Compund Semiconductors and Other Electro Optical Structures

DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Lincoln Technical Services, Inc. (LTSI) for the purpose of providing technical support to MTO program managers in the area of photonic devices, compound semiconductors and other electro optical structures. LTSI is the only resource known to the Government that has the expertise to accomplish this effort within the Government's cost and schedule constraints. LTSI, for example, has nearly ten years of directly relevant expertise and experience in the application of compound semiconductor technology to general illumination applications and is internationally recognized for their technical contributions in this area. LTSI has supported the US Department of Energy's research into solid state lighting having authored the first known disposition paper on the opportunity in 1992. This announcement is not a request for proposals, or an RFP of any kind. See Note No. 22.
