R -- Continued Technical and Administrative Support for the Air Traffic Control and Combat Identification Systems Program

THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD, intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with the American Electronics, Inc. 8229 Boone Blvd, Suite 300, Vienna, VA 22182 for the procurement of continued technical and administrative support for the Air Traffic Control and Combat Identification Systems Program Office. This action is a sole source modification to contract N00421-99-D-1596 to extend the contract for a four-month period, with up to six one-month options. American Electronics will provide programmatic management, budgetary, and financial services necessary to continue operations until a competitive acquisition is awarded. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C., 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. While this notice of intent is for information purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability respond to this requirement and may submit information, which shall be considered by the NAWCAD. The Government retains the right not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice. See Numbered Note 22.
