H -- Notice of Intent to Negotiate a Sole Source Purchase Order for Negative Pressure Room Certification and Maintenance

The Federal Correctional Institution at San Pedro, California, intents to negotiate a sole source procurement for repair, testing, and certification of two negative pressure rooms in the Health Services Unit. Services include, but are not limited to: inspection, replacement, and disposal of filters and UV bulbs; repair or replacement of MedAir Unit components (parts and labor, inclusive); re-certification of room performance; and service calls. These services will be performed within the secure perimeter of the institution. Security clearances are required. The Government intents to contract this procurement with Sunset Industries of Redding, California. The Government knows of no other source. This is a Simplified Acquisition with an estimated value of less than $10,000 per year. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate and award, subject to availability of funds, with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. Any responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals, bids or quotes. Interested firms or individuals may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting in writing their name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size, and a brief statement regarding capability to provide the specified procurement. All responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
