TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY: Simulation Tool for Damage in Composite Laminates: LAR-18561-1

NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: Scientists at NASA Langley Research Center have developed Adaptive Fidelity Shell (AF-Shell), a novel algorithm that, combined with existing modeling techniques, makes for a more cost-effective simulation tool for damage in composites. This affordable technology enables composite damage simulation in cases where it is currently cost prohibitive. AF-Shell may benefit industries such as: finite element software, wind turbine blades, composite vehicles, and research facilities. NASA is seeking to license this technology commercially in the United States. US Patent Pending.
