8(a) Certification Overview Workshop at St. Elizabeth's West Campus Opportunity Center Training to Assist Local Small Businesses in understanding the 8(a)Certification Process The SBA's 8(a) Business Development Program, named for a section of the Small Business Act, is a business development program created to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and access the federal procurement market. During this workshop: Learn about the purpose of the 8(a) program Learn about the policies and procedures for 8(a) Certification to determine if 8(a) Certification is right for you Learn how federal agencies procures for products and services with 8(a) certified vendors Learn about other socio-economic programs and Small Business Set-asides Receive on-site assistance from GSA Representatives The 8(a) Certification Overview Workshop will be held in the Opportunity Center at the St. Elizabeth's West Campus in Washington, DC on May 18, 2011.
