--Notice of Sole-source Award-Continuing Scientific/Environmental Studies/Services

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to continue scientific studies with government not-for-profit agency, Wildlife Management Institute, DUNS 077818078, on a sole source basis. Under the anticipated award, Wildlife Management Institute will provide continuing services to provide genetically verified tri-state trumpeter swans for restoration efforts. The objective of this work is to fulfill the Services obligations established in the 2003 Environmental Assessment to restore trumpeter swans in this area to objective levels. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 924120, Administration of Conservation Programs, and the (PSC) is R499, Other professional services. The Government anticipates issuance of a firm fixed price modification for a period of performance of twelve (12) months. The proposed modification is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, firms with expressed interest and capability are encouraged to respond. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
