--Intent to award Sole Source contract action with the University of Vermont for Plasma Tissue Factor immunoassay

The University of Vermont has developed an immunoassay by which plasma tissue factor (TF) concentration can be measured simultaneously with non-specific binding in a single reaction well and where the reference standard curves are generated by spikin g recombinant TF (rTF) in TF  immunodepleted plasma (NIH Project Grant No.HL 46703;unpublished data). These assays are highly specific and reproducible. Their immunoassay detects full length TF (1-263), truncated TF ( 1-218) and (1-242) as well as monocy te and placenta expressed TF. It utilizes anti-TF monoclonal antibody (mAb) clone 5 for capturing and detection of TF. This binding is then detected using a biotinylated probe, anti-TF mAb clone 48 and phycoerythrin-streptavidin. The mAb is produced and ch aracterized in the Antibody Core Facility at the University of Vermont and is not commercially available.
