Pilot Study of the Association Between Acute Gastroenteritis and Water Quality, Availability, and Handling Practices on the Navajo Nation

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firmed fixed price purchase order to The Center for American Indian Health, John Hopkins Bloomberg School, 615 North Wolfe Street, Baltimore, MD 21205, for the following: 1) conduct field-based data collection activities associated with "Pilot Study of the Association between Acute Gastroenteritis and Water Quality, Availability, and Handling Practices on the Navajo Nation"; and 2) Deliver all study forms, data, and specimens collected to the CDC for analysis. CDC believes that this requirement can best be provided by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy the Agency's requirements. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
