Notice of Intent to Sole Source the Sponsorship to the 2020 National Society of Black Engineers Virtual Convention on August 19-23, 2020

Pursuant to (FAR) 13.106-1(b), The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnerships (IIP) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with the National Society Of Black Engineers for Sponsorship of the 2020 National Society of Black Engineers Virtual Convention to be held on August 19-23, 2020. The NSBE annual convention showcases black students and professionals who have a passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), who are high achievers in these fields and who are channeling their dedication to advance their communities and society at large. The convention will attract more than 14,000 aspiring and practicing engineers, educators and representatives of more than 250 academic institutions, government agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations. It is essential that NSF reach out to a diverse R&D community and working groups for collaboration, resource exchange and mutual problem solving. NSF/IIP sponsorship will provide an opportunity to increase representation from underrepresented groups. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
