Provide Support for an Improvised Explosive Device Detector Dog (IDD)that will result in the deployment of IDDs.

This is a notice of intent for a sole source procurement. A solicitation will not be issued. The associated NAICS code is 812910. The Regional Contracting Office, National Capital Region (RCO, NCR), Quantico, VA intends to award a sole source contract to American K-9 Interdiction (AK9I), Carrollton, VA for a requirement to provide support for an Improvised Explosive Device Detector Dog (IDD)that will result in the deployment of IDDs in Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). AK9I is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirement as it currently has IDDs at their facility that have been deployed in and out of combat operations for Headquarters, USMC Plans, Policies, and Operations Department, Security Division. This requirement will be for approximately 3-5 months while the RCO, NCR prepares to award a four-year contract for the entire USMC IDD program. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received within seven (7) days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
