NOTICE OF INTENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, intends to award a sole-source contract to Hickory Knob State Park, Rt. 1, Box 199B, McCormick, SC 29835 to provide Marriage Retreat Facilities to support Veterans suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The contractor will provide lodging, meals, and couple activities for recreational team building, such as swimming, golf, hiking trails, bicycling, tennis courts, with spacious fields for team recreation and other diverse outdoor activities. The facility must be located in McCormick, SC due to budget constraints and couples' requirements. The facility must provide privacy where couples may be separated from the rest of the facility guests. It must also provide Audio Visual equipment accessibility with proper and multiple electrical outlets within the room. The Conference or Meeting room should be a minimum of 32 feet by 48 feet to provide ample space for the couples to spread out and move about freely. The facility must provide a quiet, calm environment conducive to the needs of patients with PTSD and TBI, so as not to incite veterans to panic, withdraw and even run from the facility. Facility must be compliant with requirements of the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-391) (15 U.S.C. 2201 et. Seq) and must be listed on the U.S. Fire Administration Hotel and Motel National Master List found at http://www.usfa.fema.gov/hotel/search.cfm. In addition, the facility must be compliant with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (Public Law 101-336)(42 U.S.C. 12101 et. Seq.). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product to Pamela H. [email protected] by April 18 no later than 2:00 PM EST. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 721214 with a Small Business Size Standard of $7 million.
