The 11th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland intends to award a simplified acquisition on a sole source basis to Darnell Racing Enterprises, Inc. for the Groundspeed Demonstration of a triple-jet semi-truck. The requirement of a triple-jet semi-truck Groundspeed Demonstration is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source is capable of responding due to Darnell Racing Enterprises, Inc. being the only contractor available to provide a semi-truck, with a triple-jet engine configuration, capable of reaching above 300 miles per hour. This unique and one of a kind capability shall provide speed demonstrations displaying the power of the triple-jet engine semi-truck as it races with other aircraft. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 711219 with a size standard of $11M. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in preparation of any capability statements or documents prepared for this notice.
