The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to issue a modification to add testing for Chagas disease to contract N62645-10-D-5002 with United Blood Services, located at 6210 E Oak Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85257-1101. United Blood Services provides blood donor testing services to support the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). The Armed Services Blood Program Office (ASBPO) has issued new policy Blood Program Letter (BPL) 11-05 notifying the services of the policy on donor screening, deferral, and lookback for scrological testing for Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi) which causes Chagas disease. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 621991. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
