The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAHPS) intends to award a sole source contract for ground ambulance services under authority of FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency, to Transcare Pennsylvania, Inc., 400 Seco Road, Monroeville, PA 15146. This action will result in a one (1) month period of performance extension to Transcare's current firm-fixed price contract covering the period November 1-30, 2011. The NACIS code for this requirement is 621910 with a size standard of $7.0 million. The Contractor will provide all vehicles, personnel, management, supplies, transportation, equipment and reports necessary to provide ground ambulance transport services for VAPHS. The Contractor must have available a minimum of four (4) Advanced Life Support (ALS) and six (6) Basic Life Support (BLS) vehicles at all times for services under this contract, as well as two (2) ALS vehicles on site at VAPHS, each staffed with two (2) paramedics to provide 24 hours per day/7 days per week ambulance coverage and emergency code response at the H. J. Heinz and Highland Drive Divisions of VAPHS.
