RECOVERY - Construction/Rehab for Operation of the Puerto Rico Job Corps Center

RECOVERY-THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A NOTICE FOR SOLICITATION OF OFFERS. THE ACTION DESCRIBED HEREIN IS A MODIFICATION TO AN EXISTING CONTRACT, DOLJ06QA00001. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CONTRACTOR IDENTIFIED BELOW. This opportunity is available only to the Res-Care, Inc. under contract number DOLJ06QA00001. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management on behalf of the Office of Job Corps intends to award a modification in the amount of $943,890 to the Puerto Rico Job Corps Centers, operated by Res-Care, Inc. These funds are provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The funding is within the not-to-exceed ceiling for Construction/Rehab on this contract. It would be impracticable to use a fixed price contract to secure services of the kind or quality required for this modification, since the modification is to an existing Cost Plus Incentive Fee contract (Cost Reimbursement Contract). The funding is intended to correct the following facility deficiencies: Roof Deficiencies, HVAC Deficiencies and Ventilation deficiencies, Interior Finish Deficiencies, Exterior Door Deficiencies, Exterior Wall Deficiencies, and Window Deficiencies. The operator of the Puerto Rico centers will procure the services of local construction and service providers, by making these funds available through subcontracting opportunities, following all applicable FAR procurement regulations. It is anticipated that this Modification will be awarded with fifteen (15) days of the date of this announcement.
