NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a Sole Source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) for clinical on-site CT Machine Training with Siemens Medical Solutions, 40 Liberty Blvd., Malvern, PA 19355. The Training for the CT Machine is necessary due to the replacement of the medical center s main CT scanner in the Radiology Department to a new Siemens SPECT/CT. The Justification and Approval for this action will be included as a part of the award notice. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used, and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed-price contract. The NAICS Code is 611430 and the size standard is $12 million. This Special Notice serves as Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals and is not a solicitation or a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
