THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source award a contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This agency intends to award to Pyramid Design Inc, 6174 New Holland St, Hudsonville, MI 49426-9501. USSOCOM at MacDill AFB, FL requires on-site (MacDill AFB) customized training courses specially tailored for the use of the Solaris 10 operating system in the Global Command and Control Center?Joint (GCCS-J). The firm must be a certified Sun Solaris trainer. The two courses need to be developed for USSOCOM to train their GCCS-J system engineers and system administrator on the specific application of the new Sun Solaris 10 operating system software in the GCCS-J system. One course will be a 5-day Solaris 10 Intermediate System Administration tailored in the Global Command and Control Center?Joint (GCCS-J) and the other will be a 5-day Solaris 10 Advanced System Administration tailored in the GCCS-J system. A contract for the Solaris 10 Customized training will be awarded to Pyramid Design, Inc following no response back to this notice of intent. The customized training that is required has previously been customized for USCENTCOM by Pyramid Design, Inc.; they are the only known provider of this customized training. Market research, to include a sources sought posted on FBO, was conducted for the purchase of the customized training needs. Pyramid Design, Inc. is the only contractor found able to supply these items as we require. If no response to this notice is received by Noon (12:00PM) EST on Friday. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 4 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
