This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13. The US Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following for Space Rental for the Latin America Aero & Defence (LAAD) expo for approved international event during 12-15 April 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. CLIN 0001 Provide Rental Space of 90 Square Meters of Exhibit Space for the US Army's custom designed and constructed representative exhibit for its participation in the official US Pavilion at the 2011 LAAD in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Exhibit space (9 meters by 10 meters), in an island configuration in Hall 3, Stand Number Q100a, for the time duration required to move in, unpack, install, present the Army Exhibit during the event dates and then subsequent dismantling, repacking and move out from the event site. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source Purchase Order to Clarion Defence & Security, LTD, London SW59TA. Clarion Defence & Security, LTD has contracted with the event sponsor and organizer to be the sole source of supply to provide exhibit rental space to any and all US Exhibitors in the officially designated and named US Pavilion that is sponsored & certified by the US Dept of Commerce at this event. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561920 and the Business Size Standard is $7.0M. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 9:00 AM Eastern Time, March 4, 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
