The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order with one source, EVCO Sound and Electronics. The procurement is for the following items: Nurse Call System Service and Maintenance. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, and transportation necessary to perform preventative maintenance and interim service, including, but not limited to, repair, modification, installation, transfer, and removal of equipment for the Rauland Responder 5 Nurse Call System at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, Spokane, WA. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 561612, Security Systems Services (except Locksmiths). EVCO Sound and Electronics is the Sole Sourced Authorized Distributor of Rauland nurse call systems and products in Washington. This is a notice of intent to award a contract on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The requirement is for the following location: Department of Veterans Affairs Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center 4815 N. Assembly Street Spokane, WA 99205 This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be made available. Any responses received will only be considered for the purposes of determining the marketplace for future procurements. The Government will not pay for information submitted. This will be the only notice of the Government s intent to solicit, negotiate and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
