The General Services Administration (GSA), Public Buildings Service (PBS), National Capital Region (NCR), proposes to enter into a short term contract with the vendor who provides the current specialized executive assistant administrative support needed to continue GSA's mission within the Office of the Regional Commissioner. This contract will be procured using other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-2 The objective is to continue to provide support to GSA/PBS/NCR with the current vendor who possesses specialized administrative services experience and is also familiar with the complex needs of the office. 41 U.S.C. 3304©(2): Authorized or required by statute is the authority for this action. Services are being procured under FAR 6.302-2, when the agency's need for the supplies or services is of such an unusual and compelling urgency that the Government would be seriously injured unless the agency is permitted to limit the number of sources from which it solicits bids or proposals, full and open competition need not be provided for. Under the direction of the Office of Administrative Services (OAS) at GSA National Office, all NCR administrative contract support is to be consolidated into one contract vehicle. The approximate effective date of the new contract vehicle is estimated to be August 24, 2018. The current contract ends on February 21, 2018. GSA cannot have a lapse in services until that time, so we need to extend the contact with the current vendor through August 23 rd . In order for us to continue to successfully accomplish our mission, it is imperative that we extend the services provided until the new contract is awarded and in place. This agreement shall be procured as a firm fixed price contract consisting of a six month base period plus one (1) six month option period. The effective period the justification will be in effect is as follows: Base: February 22 , 2018 - August 23, 2018 Option I: August 24, 2018 - February 23, 2019
