Sole Source 5year service contract for the Certification Maintenance and Repair BSCs, & fume hoods.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal Plant Health Inspection Services, Center for Veterinary Biologics (USDA / APHIS / CVB) located in Ames, IA intends to award a sole source contract to Pure Air Testing, Inc./DUNS: 830235904 CAGE Code: 5EF23, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-5(b)(7)) Sole source awards under the Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Program– 15 U.S.C. 637(m) (see FAR 19.1506). This requirement is for a Firm Fixed Priced Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery service contract for the Certification Maintenance and Repair of Class I Laminar Air Flow Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC), Class II BSC’s, Class III BSC’s, HEPA filtered small animal isolators and chemical fume hoods in accordance with the statement of work. The period of performance shall be from the Date of Award to 09/30/2020 and four possible one year option periods. The acquisition is assigned NAICS code 541990 All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services, in which The Small Business Administration ( SBA) has determined to be a NAICS Code that is substantially underrepresented by Women Owned Businesses in Federal procurement. The SBA Small Business Size Standard for this NAICS Code is $ 16.5 Mil. Pure Air Testing, Inc. is currently performing on contract # AG-6395-C-16-0005 which expires 09/30/2020 and has obtained all the requisite security clearances for certain areas within the USDA / APHIS / CVB, Ames, IA facility. They also have historical knowledge of every BSC on this campus, and are often able to provide predictive maintenance advice on the BSCs that helps minimize disruptions to campus operations by scheduling maintenance and repairs around the laboratories schedule rather than allowing the BSC to fail, then scheduling the repairs. This greatly increases the safety for the laboratory workers by reducing the likelihood of exposure to Biological and Chemical hazards. Pure Air Testing, Inc. is currently accredited by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) on NSF/ANSI Standard 49 Class II (Laminar Flow) Biosafety Cabinetry enabling them to be the certifier to calibrate and make repairs to these BSCs. This is a sole source notice published for informational purposes only and is NOT a request for proposals. Therefore, no solicitation documents exist for this requirement.
