The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive purchase order to North Carolina Center for Geographic Information & Analysis (NC CGIA)located Raleigh NC for higher resolution color and color infrared imagery of the Eastern Piedmont region of North Carolina. The NC CGIA provided the coordination and management of high-resolution, leaf-off, color, digital, orthoimagery collection in the winter of 2014 for at least 8 counties in the Eastern Piedmont region of North Carolina (4687 sq. mi.) for which, the high-priority Raleigh-Durham urban area are included for one year from the date of award. There are no option periods. The NC CGIA is the only organization known to be leading a coordinated effort for acquiring and managing high-resolution, leaf-off, imagery meeting NGP and NGA requirements for this area of interest over the desired time period. USGS partnership for the urban area imagery of Raleigh-Durham, NC is supported under guidance pursuant to OMB circular A-16; HO 12906 ''Coordination of Geographic Information and Related Spatial Data Activities" and under policy guidance from the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) to promote coordinated development, use, sharing, and dissemination of geospatial data on a national basis as part of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
