R -- Extension of delivery order for sustainment of the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Prototype System

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) extended the period of performance of task order HSTS02-04-F-SCR009 with BearingPoint, Inc. for four months with an option (four months). The contractor shall continue to operate and maintain the prototype system for a limited number of Transportation Worker Identification & Credentialing (TWIC) sites established under the TWIC Phase III prototype effort. Following this sustainment period the Government intends to competitively award a contract to move the TWIC program into Phase IV that will provide an operational TWIC system to selected transportation sites. This is not a request for offers from other sources but a special notice of a contract modification. A notice for sources sought for a competitive contract for TWIC Phase IV will be announced at a later date when the acquisition process begins. Note 22 applies.
