In accordance with OMB Circular A-76 (Revised May 29, 2003) the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is publicly announcing the start of a Streamline Competition for Information Technology Data Center Operations. The Competitive Sourcing Official (CSO) is Dr. Ed Sontag, Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management, Department of Health and Human Services. The Agency Tender Official is Jane Small. The Contracting Officers (CO) are Lisa Schneider and Patricia Pemberton. The projected end date of the Competition is July 27, 2004. The functions of Data Center Operations at NIH include but are not limited to backup services, computer facility management and maintenance services, monitor and maintain the Clinical Center mainframe computer, printing services (i.e. manuals, payrolls), IT support for NIH users, shipping services, hardware/software testing and installations, acceptance test services, providing technical expertise at technical committees, and maintaining procedural, technical, and software manuals. These services are currently provided by forty-seven (47) Federal government employees. NIH will issue another notice to announce the decision of the cost comparison on or about July 28, 2004. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME.
