Invitation to Industry Day for USMC and US Army 802.16 Secure Profile requirements.

MARKET RESEARCH/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The Department of Defense is developing 802.16 Secure Profile to meet DoD requirements and support multi-vendor interoperability. The initial focus would be on USMC and US Army 802.16 Secure Profile. Vendors are invited to participate in this effort by attending an Industry Day at MITRE (McLean, VA) from 9:00AM - 5:00 PM on July 27, 2009. USMC and US Army personnel will present their use cases and requirements for 802.16 Secure Profile, and will also propose interoperability process. If vendors are interested in participating in this meeting, please send an e-mail to Dr. D. J. Shyy ([email protected]) by July 15, 2009. A detailed agenda will be e-mailed after July 15 to those who express interest. The results of this meeting will be used to refine the requirements for USMC and US Army 802.16 Secure Profile. After this meeting, it is expected that there will be conference calls/meetings to continue and complete the development of 802.16 Secure Profile. Participating in this effort is voluntary. The attendance of the Industry Day is limited to US citizens only. Attendees shall bring US citizenship identification (e.g. U.S. birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, or a valid U.S. passport). THERE IS NO COMMITMENT BY USMC OR US ARMY TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS OR SERVICES OR FOR THE USMC OR ARMY TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. THE DOD SHALL NOT REIMBURSE INTERESTED VENDORS FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVEL OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS OPPORTUNITY.
