The Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal intends to issue an award to Geological Survey of Alabama to on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1, to monitor Alabama cave shrimp population on Redstone Arsenal to include habitat water quality. This action is to monitor Alabama cave shrimp population on Redstone Arsenal to include habitat water quality. This action is required under the ESA, AR 200-1 and the Endangered Species Management Component of the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan. The Contractor shall accomplish the following: a. Execute bimonthly monitoring of cave shrimp population in Bobcat Cave during periods when water levels permit, recording the following data: number of individuals, number of gravid individuals, other noteworthy items; b. Execute monthly water quality monitoring in Bobcat Cave; No solicitation package will package will be issued. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received not later than 12:00 PM CT on August 19, 2014. POC name and contact information 4. The specific service(s) that your company offers that fulfills the same function as the services to be included on this order or evidence that your company is capable of providing the repair services 5. A description of the service(s) and your company's overall capabilities. It is your responsibility to demonstrate how your service(s) are capable of providing the same services that exist with Geological Survey of Alabama mentioned above. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government's Contracting Officer. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
