B -- Aviation Engineering Services in Support of Forest Service Fixed Wing Aerial Firefighting Program

The USDA Forest Service, Support Branch of Fire and Aviation, The National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho, serves notice of a contract action with intent to award an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract for aviation engineering services to Avenger Aircraft and Services of Greenville, SC. The proposed contract is for a base year and up to two one-year option periods. The total value of this acquisition shall not exceed $500,000 for the duration of the contract period. The Contracting Officer has determined that the authorities cited in FAR 6.301-1 provide the rationale for other than full and open competition. This is a follow-on contract for aviation engineering services requiring accumulated, specialized knowledge of fixed wing aircraft as utilized in the aerial firefighting program of the US Forest Service.
