W--Department of Veteran Affairs VISN 15 - Endoscopy Lease Contract NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15, intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed price commercial item contract with a large business, Olympus America s, to provide VISN 15 with a lease of Endoscopes for a base period and 2 additional option periods should the need exist. The supplies will be delivered to VISN 15 facilities. The Olympus Endoscopes is requested due to the historical durability and dependability and is compatible with Olympus equipment currently being used within VISN 15. The goal is to provide appropriate standard of facility care in surgery. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 532490. The Government believes that Olympus is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required lease of Endoscopes. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy the agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Olympus Americas is the only source that provides the above indicated supplies that are compatible for use with other Olympus Equipment. This is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contract Specialist on or before the closing date, 05/20/2018, of this Notice of Intent. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to [email protected] . Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government not to complete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, VISN 15, will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Olympus Americas.
