Description
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs ("VA") under its Enhanced-Use Leasing authority (38 U.S.C. 8161 - 8169), is seeking "expressions of interest" from bidders interested in a development opportunity for a Veterans' Park at the Canandaigua Veterans Medical Center (Canandaigua VAMC). See below for information about the available parcel of land. VA requests expressions of interest from a developer/lessee to build, occupy, and operate with a leasehold interest, a homeless housing project. Through this enhanced-use authority, VA can offer long-term use of assets (up to 75 years) in order to accommodate the scope of the project. The developer/operator will be required to finance, design, construct, occupy, and operate the facility and all site improvements in accordance with State of Michigan regulations and the applicable local codes of the City of Iron Mountain. In return for the long-term use of the assets, the developer/operator/lessee will provide "fair consideration" to VA. VA's primary objective is to assist homeless Veterans to obtain housing.
