Synopsis THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System of Dallas, TX (VANTHCS ) intends to award a sole source procurement under Public law 109-461 to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. In accordance with the requirements contained in FAR Part 5 and under the authority of 38 USC 8127(b) and VAAR 819.7007. This constitutes the only announcement; and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA), Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System Dallas, TX has a requirement under the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Services for Phlebotomy/Courier services. The contractor will provide on-site phlebotomists service to client sites and couriers trained in the transport of infectious substances. Patient specimens from outlying locations will be transported to VANTHCS laboratory for testing purposes. The VA intends to award one service contract for the above-mentioned services. The period of performance for the awarded contract will be one (1) year, with an estimated start date of April 1, 2010, and four (4) option years. The magnitude of this service contract will be between $100,000 and $574,000. This information is provided per VAAR 836.204. THIS REQUIREMENT IS SOLE SOURCE FOR A SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED CONCERN. Award will be made on a sole source basis to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), in accordance with VAAR 819.7007. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 492110 and the size standard is 1,500.
