INSTALLATION ACQUISITION TRANSFORMATION ROADSHOW

Gain knowledge of the future procurement business practices of our United States Air Force at the CONUS Installation level. The need has been identified for a fundamental shift in the contracting and acquisition processes conducted in support of Air Force installations. Central to this transformation is the introduction of five geographic-based Regional Centers (RCs). The majority of installation contracting will be accomplished at these five RCs utilizing strategic sourcing principles. This should provide uniform acquisition guidance and oversight resulting in considerable annual savings to the Air Force. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is expected to begin implementation (transitioning workload to the Hampton Roads VA Regional Center) approximately October 2009. An invitation is extended to Industry operating in Ohio to learn more about Installation Acquisition Transformation (IAT) and specifically how it might affect your business association with Wright-Patterson AFB and the Air Force. Industry partners are encouraged to attend a briefing and ask questions during the forum on 7 May 2008 from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM at Building 640, AFIT Bane Auditorium on Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.
