THIS MODIFICATION IS TO CORRECT THE PROCUREMENT TYPE TO READ PRESOLICITATION NOTICE, NOT SPECIAL NOTICE. NO FURTHER CHANGES. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services (OSELS) contemplates award of a sole source Firm Fixed Price Order to nexAir LLC for the purchase of 5 each MVE Chart 1879R vapor phase high capacity Liquid Nitrogen Freezers; 2 each MVE Chart CryoCart with Plumbing and temperature probe; and 300 each 13-2 Rack Aluminum with Locking Rod. This equipment is used to store valuable collections at the CASPIR TM (CDC and ASTDR Specimen Packaging, Inventory & Repository) Facility located in Lawrenceville, GA. The required delivery date is November 1, 2013. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 423830 and Standard Business Size of 500. nexAir LLC is a small business. The sole source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The liquid nitrogen freezers have been designed and built just for the CDC. The facility currently uses the same customized freezers. The freezers have a TEC 3000 monitor on them with the ability to communicate with CDC's in-house monitoring system. nexAir LLC is the single distributor of the CDC version freezers for sale and service. CDC model freezers have single solenoid valves. The electronics are setup to take temperature probe A into the freezer and temperature probe B is located in the fill-line to protect against an over-fill situation. The TEC 3000 monitors have special serial ports with 20 MA output for communication as well as single Ethernet outputs. The TEC 3000 also has special programming for the unique alarm and monitoring abilities. The MVE Chart CryoCart is a unique patented product of MVE Chart distributed by nexAir LLC. This product provides a portable workbench for frozen specimens, with liquid nitrogen controlled temperatures.
