Notice of Intent to Sole Source Rental Renewal of Existing Generator and UPS System

Notice of intent to award a sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13). This notice is for information only, a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423610, Electrical Apparatus and Equipment, Wiring Supplies, and Related Equipment Merchant Wholesalers with a size standard of 500 Employees. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1, the Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract for rental and maintenance of an external trailer mounted diesel generator and corresponding UPS. The Government has determined Runtime Battery Systems LLC is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for continued rental of an existing trailer mounted Back Up Power Generator unit which was originally awarded competitively. Due to current building and campus regulations of the requiring location the existing rental unit cannot be removed and a new unit installed. The Government requires continuing generator backup for IT equipment on site. Applicable sole source justification and approval is attached to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Officer.
