--Intent to Sole Source WAN Modernization Project for the Oregon Army National Guard

The Oregon Army National Guard intends on Sole Sourcing a Firm Fixed Price Contract on or about August 21, 2006 to Verzion Business to install high speed data circuits to each facility. Verizon Business will be the primary vendor used by the ORARNG for providing these circuits. These services are offered under the Federal Technology Services 2001 contract and all orders for new service have been place. Based upon this order Verizon Business is scheduled to visit each facility to install a new circu it. Since Verizon Business can also provide Professional Services on installation and configuration of Cisco equipment, it would satisfy the Unusual and Compelling Need (FAR 6.302-2) of the ORARNG to have them perform these services at the same time. I f, another vendor was used to install the new Cisco Equipment all new circuits from Verizon Business would have to be installed, tested, and begin accruing a monthly service charge. This means, that the ORARNG would be paying for two WAN circuits solution s (existing and new), while the Cisco equipment is installed, configured and tested.
