NOTICE OF INTENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, intends to award a sole-source contract to STERIS Corporation, 5960 Heisley Road, Mentor, OH 44060-1834 to furnish labor, parts, unlimited emergency calls, unlimited repair services and perform preventive maintenance for STERIS Reliance Endoscope Processors and STERIS Sterilizer located at Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) Montgomery and Tuskegee medical centers. STERIS Corporation is the proprietary vendor and sole distributor of this equipment. STERIS Corporation manufactures and markets full range of innovative endoscope processors and sterilizer that safety and effectively meets the needs of the healthcare providers and patients. Steris's Endoscope Processors and Sterilizer are regulated by FDA. Only engineers trained and certified by Steris are authorized to service Steris's Reliance Endoscope Processors and Sterilizer. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product to Juan A. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 423490 with a Small Business Size Standard of 100 employees.
