Firm Fixed-Price, Commercial Item Purchase of IntraOral X-ray Sensors for the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.

The Great Plains Area Indian Health Service hereby submits a notice of intent to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Order for the purchase of commercially available off the shelf (COTS) from Kavo Kerr, a large business. The purchase is for a Kavo Kerr Intra Oral X-ray Sensors, for the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. This sole source contracting action is pursuing a waiver from placing an order on a competitive basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements and is based upon the market research provided by Serivce Unit Biomedical Personnel, Chief Dental Consultant and Support Staff, and Area Clinical Engineering Staff at the Great Plains Area Office in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of agency standardization, data center standardization, and network security. The determination not to compete this action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
