This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer in Seattle, WA on a sole source basis with Mecco, Inc. The government intends to acquire services using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide Tritech Super Seaking DFS Dual Frequency Obstacle Avoidance Sonar, Subconn IL6FS and MLIL6M, liter Shell GX, isolating transformer oil, and shipping charges. Mecco, Inc was identified by program office as the only source that can meet the technical requirement of this procurement because no other manufacture/supplier would have an item for item product to the existing Dual Frequency Obstacle Avoidance Sonar the government already possesses for this application. The government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract with a delivery date of June 30, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can provide equipment that fully meets the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation, such as the specifications of your product, in writing to the identified point of contact within 10 days after the publication of this notice. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
