Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Research, Engineering and Development Command, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Texas A&M University, College Station, TX 77843 . This effort is to provide the Government with a effective testing/evaluation plan, for the service life of Ballastic Fibers for Interceptor Body Armor. T he program will identify the isothermal temperature thresholds under 100%RH that fibers of interest to the Army (i.e. Zylon, Kevlar KM2, M-5 and Armos) permanent swell and thus enhance acid catalyzed ballistic degradation.
