Notice of intent to award a sole source contract manufacturer for various contact lens distribution.

The Marine Corps Regional Contacting Office-National Capital Region, Quantico, VA 22134 intends to award a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement to 1-800-CONTACTS to provide various contact lens brands to fill prescriptions for the Marines under the United States Marine Corps Band. This Blanket Purchase Agreement will be for a total ordering period of 15 June 2011 – 14 June 2016 (5 Years). The Contractor is the sole authorized distributor of all contact brand names and can support prescription provided by the Government via mail-order. The contacts are required to support the United States Marine Corps Band pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting Competition- Soliciting from a Single Source. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request for quotation. No solicitation document is available and telephone, fax, or e-mail requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is within the discretion of the Government.
